Descriptions About Our Mums!!!

Last week in Room 3 we wrote a character description about our mums. We tried to use lots of describing words (adjectives) and describe what our mums looked like, what they like to do and what makes them special to us!!!
The whole class have their descriptions on display in the classroom and here are a few samples.

Annika
My mum's name is Malia Delacey.  She has black, curly, short hair.  She is short.  She likes cooking.  She also likes licorice.  She likes me and I like hugging her.  She is pretty and the best mum in the whole wide world.  She also likes visiting her parents.  She loves blue and she hates naughty people.  Her eyes are brown.  She wears glasses sometimes.  She loves me and I love her.

Liam
My mum has short hair.  She likes coffee.  She doesn't like people shouting in the house.  She likes playing with me, my brother and my baby sister.  I love my mum because she takes care of me.  My mum is special because she is my mum.

Kevin
My mum likes chocolate.  My mum is short.  I love her,  she is wonderful.  She hates spiders. Her eyes are black and her hair is black.  She likes to go to the theatre with me. I love her so much and she loves me.  My mum's favourite colour is yellow.

My mum is wonderful.  I love my mum.  My mum hates spiders but she loves me.  I love my mum because she cares for me.  She is amazing and beautiful.  My mum's favourite colour is green.

Soeun
My mum likes swimming.  She has long, straight hair that is brown.  Her favourite food is Japanese vegetarian food.  My mum is forty-three years old.  My mum is tall and slim.  She likes reading.  She likes chocolate, but hates spiders.

Swimming Display

On Monday 2 March, Room 3 did a swimming display of a lesson for parents, caregivers and whanau.  Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came along, to watch what we do for swimming!!! We swim twice a week on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. We are in 3 swimming groups and we are all learning different skills to help us survive in the water and feel confident in the water. Science Guy - James Boffin

On Tuesday 24 February we had a visit from a secret agent from Science HQ.  His name was James Boffin and we amazed us with science that looked like magic!!! We had 2 sessions in the hall with him and then at 3pm he let off a water rocket on the field. We learnt heaps of interesting information and had lots of fun!!!!  Some of our favourite things were the water rocket and the rainbow 3D glasses.  We loved making the green goo and we got to take it home!!! Some of us tried the egg experiment at home. Who managed to do it without breaking an egg? Who tried it with 2 or more eggs at once? Here are some photos of our class session with James Boffin.

Events in Term One

Hi everybody and welcome to Room 3's blog for 2015. We have had an exciting start to the year and the first five weeks have been action packed and very busy.
