Catholic Schools Day

On Monday 16 May it was Catholic Schools Day. We celebrated being Catholic and how special it was, to go to a Catholic School. We spent most of the day with our buddy class, Room 5. We did prayers together in the morning. Then after morning tea, we got together and did a really fun activity. We made edible chocolate playdough and then used the playdough to make a symbol that represented our Catholic faith. We baked the playdough and then ate it!!! They tasted just like a chocolate brownie. We really enjoyed working with our buddy class and each child was partnered up with an older child. Here are some photos of our results:

Term Two

Welcome back to Term Two everybody. I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday. This term is going to be very exciting in Room 3. We are undertaking a huge technology project including design and construction. This will involve finding a need and designing a structure to meet that need. Children will have to plan and use appropriate materials to construct their design. They will then revisit the design and see what worked and maybe change a few aspects of the structure. We are also planning a very exciting trip to help support our learning in this area, this term. More information to follow soon. Our other major focus is the school cross country, which is on this Friday. The junior races will start at 9.30am with the 5 year old boys. So if you can come along and support the children, that would be great!!! Other focuses this term include, Maori and Music. Mrs Fran Taylor will be teaching in Room 3 every week on a Tuesday and Wednesday, for the remainder of the year. We are very excited to have her in our room. This allows Mrs McLeod to work on her role as acting syndicate leader for Sheridan. Please come in and visit us anytime in Room 3, so we can share our interesting learning with you.
