Descriptions

Over the past two weeks we have been writing descriptions. During our study about ANZAC we looked very closely at an old photo of soldiers marching to war. We listed adjectives to describe what we could see in the photo and then thought about how the soldiers would be feeling at that time. We also included how we would feel if it was us marching into war.
Here are a few samples of our work:
Elia Landon-Paniora
The soldiers are carrying guns. They have serious faces. They have travelled for a long time. They are scared. They have helmets. They are hungry. They have shoes. They are a long way away. If I was a soldier I would be feeling sad.

Seihara Andrews
The soldiers are marching to fight and they have serious faces. They do not have smiley faces. Some soldiers lied about their age. If I was a soldier I would be very scared. I could be very nervous.

Robin Corpuz
The soldiers are marching. They like to fight. They are marching in the sand. They have long pants.

Alana Jackson
The soldiers are marching so far. They are so hungry. They are so serious. They are holding guns. They also have swords. The soldiers have serious faces. The soldiers have hard helmets. The soldiers are feeling sad because they are a long way from home. I would be feeling sad if I was a soldier. The soldiers are marching and they are feeling sad too.
